Why Silk

Why Silk? The Science Behind the World's Most Beneficial Fabric.

At LVIE, we sell silk because the evidence for its health benefits is overwhelming, and most people have never been told.

Silk and Your Sleep Silk's natural thermoregulating structure keeps your body at an ideal temperature all night, preventing the overheating that disrupts deep sleep. The result: deeper REM cycles, faster cellular regeneration, lower morning cortisol, and more energy during the day.

Silk and Your Skin Cotton creates friction against your face all night, causing sleep lines, enlarged pores and moisture loss. Silk eliminates this entirely. Your skin stays hydrated, skincare absorbs deeper, and sleep lines visibly reduce over time. Recommended by dermatologists for sensitive and post-treatment skin.

Silk and Your Hair Friction is the number one cause of breakage, frizz and thinning at the temples, and most of it happens while you sleep. Silk eliminates it completely, protecting colour-treated hair and reducing hairline thinning.

Silk and Your Baby Baby skin is up to 5x more sensitive than adult skin. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial, dust-mite resistant and temperature regulating, making it the safest choice for eczema-prone and newborn skin.

Grade 6A Mulberry Silk Not all silk is equal. Grade 6A is the highest classification available, offering the finest filaments, brightest lustre and greatest durability. It's the only grade we use at LVIE.

Momme Weight Momme measures silk fabric weight. We use 19 to 22 momme, the sweet spot for softness, durability and drape.

Silk vs Satin Satin is a weave, not a material. Most affordable "silk-feel" products are polyester satin with none of the proteins, breathability or health benefits. At LVIE, everything is 100% pure mulberry silk. Always.
